Meet Brittany
Hi! I’m Brittany, and thank you so much for visiting Live Live Life Electrified®. This blog is where I share my electric vehicle (EV) lifestyle and all that comes with it.
In 2017, my husband, James, and I bought our first electric vehicle, a Tesla Model S. Game changer! I went from hating long drives to only wanting to drive to our next destination, no matter the distance…actually, the further the better. I went from enjoying the sound of an engine roar to loving the quiet way my car moves like Night Rider 😎.
My newfound appreciation for zero emissions has driven me (see what I did there lol 😝) to implement more eco-friendly changes in my life to benefit the environment…and all of us! However, despite being disproportionately affected by the negative impacts of air pollution, carbon emissions, and climate change, BIPOC are the smallest demographic for electric vehicles. I’ve observed that lack of diversity in the electric vehicle community firsthand. As a black woman, that reality of environmental racism is the primary reason dispersing information and sharing my EV experiences are important to me. I minored in both Social Inequality and Law & Society at Cornell University, and this blog has invoked my passion for social justice, environmental justice is necessary to truly address the climate crisis.
The definition of electrified is to supply with electric power; to excite greatly; thrill. I hope this blog inspires you to #LiveLifeElectrified by having fun, embracing adventure, exploring new places, learning/trying new things, appreciating different perspectives, and gets you excited about the EV movement and a sustainable lifestyle.
Rᴀɴᴅᴏᴍ ғᴀᴄᴛs:
- My husband and I have been together for 13 years, and married for the last 5 years. We’re college sweethearts that started dating our sophomore year at 19 years old.
- I have a (healthy🙃) obsession with fun/colorful socks.
- I do not like ketchup 🤢 so I eat french fries with yellow mustard😋🤤
- Beyoncé and all things Beyoncé bring me joy. (Also, when I turn up the radio and/or in the shower you can’t tell our voices apart 💁🏾♀️😜)
- I studied abroad in Paris, France for a semester and lived with a host mom. C’était comme une rêve, j’adore Paris.
- One day I want to live in a sustainable house with solar panels, only electric cars in the garage with wall connectors to charge both vehicles, and have a flourishing garden that produces all the fruits/vegetables we need.
