We finally reached 50,000 miles of Tesla ownership!
Now, even though most of that mileage was obtained on Autopilot 😎, I did make some observations along the way.
Pros:
-
Autopilot gets better the more we use it so the car has gotten smarter over these past 50,000 miles
-
As Tesla owners, we drive A LOT more, which has saved us money on flights, helps the environment, and has led to more experiences
-
Extremely low maintenance
-
Meet new people everywhere
Cons:
-
Screen got a yellow line along the border (luckily this was included in the warranty and quickly replaced at the service center)
-
All that driving means new tires (so far I have had to purchase a new set of tires once)
-
Had to replace the 12V battery around 35K miles (this was a free service)
After 50K miles, the good has outweighed the bad. Tesla is still a young company, so being a Model S owner at this point comes with some unknowns. So far, I don’t have an ounce of “buyer’s remorse,” and I’m looking forward to the next 50K miles.
